Terms of Service
These terms cover quotes and moving services from Canterbury Removals. Written to be clear, not clever. Your booking confirmation, together with these terms, forms the agreement between us.
Quotes
A quote is based on what you tell us about the move — addresses, access, what’s going and any special items. If the job on the day is materially different from what was described, the price may need to change. A written quote stays valid for thirty days from its date unless we say otherwise.
Bookings & deposits
Your move is confirmed once you accept the quote and we acknowledge the booking. Where a deposit is needed to hold a date, it comes off the final balance. A deposit is refundable if you cancel with at least seven days’ notice before the booked date.
Payment
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, the balance is due on or before completion of the move. Accepted payment methods are set out in your booking confirmation.
Your responsibilities
- Make sure we can get to both properties, and any lift or loading area when needed
- Tell us in advance about anything unusually heavy, fragile, valuable or hazardous
- Sort any parking permits or bay suspensions where the address needs them
- Check nothing’s left behind, and everything’s delivered, before we leave
Items we can’t carry
For safety and legal reasons we can’t move certain things, including hazardous or flammable materials, illegal items, and perishable or living things. If you’re not sure about something, ask before the day.
Liability
We handle your things with care and carry goods-in-transit and public liability insurance; we’ll confirm the cover with your quote. If something is lost or damaged in our care, tell us as soon as you can and in any event report it within seven days of delivery so we can put it right. Our liability is subject to the terms and limits of our insurance and these terms.
Cancellations & changes
If you need to cancel or move your date, tell us as early as you can and we’ll do our best to fit it in. Cancellations close to the booked date may carry a charge to cover work already committed; we’ll always explain any charge before it’s applied.
Delays outside our control
Now and then, things beyond our control — weather, traffic, or border and customs delays on international moves — affect timing. We’ll keep you posted and work to keep any disruption to a minimum, but we can’t accept liability for delays we couldn’t reasonably prevent.
Complaints
If anything’s not right, contact us at hello@removalscanterbury.uk and we’ll work with you to sort it fairly and promptly.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
